“ I'm a huge fan of Drifters! I work from home and mostly by myself, so being able to sit in Drifters and soak in the warm atmosphere really improves my mood for the work week! The coffee is always spot on, food is scrummy (the team are killing it with all their new baked goods!), and always friendly staff. It's the only cafe I go to where I feel like I might run into someone I know, or even have a lovely chat with a stranger (both have happened on more than one occasion)! I bought my older boss here for the first time and she loved it saying 'it makes me feel like an old hippie!'. Thanks Drifters team for making such a special spot for the community. Big love! ”

“ This is my absolute favourite cafe - I drive up from Auckland for it. The staff are lovely and friendly. The atmosphere is amazing, it is so cozy and welcoming. The seating is mainly comfy couches, when it's busy you will often be sitting around a low table with other customers but I have found everyone to be pretty friendly. When you order your coffee you get to choose your own cup, and they have such a fun variety to choose from. The coffee is always excellent. The food menu is just toasties, but they are really delicious, and they usually have good vegetarian options. I believe there is also a very small selection of pastries at the counter but I have never tried them. It's my go to place anytime I'm in Orewa, or anytime I need an escape from Auckland. And best of all it is dog friendly, and has its own dog Cracka who is such a cutie. ”
“ Beautiful little stop on our drive north from Auckland. Feels like you're sat in the living room of someone you know - very cute furniture/couches, and when purchasing a coffee you get to choose from their assorted mug collection (different sizes, colours and shapes) which was good fun! Coffee, both hot and iced, were delicious. Assorted books and various items for sale spread across the cafe. Again, very lovely homely feeling. When we head back south, we plan to stop again ”

“ Very friendly team, beach setup/decor with lots of plants. Very busy Cafe with relaxed atmosphere, lots of green plants, can tell the owner is into sustainability - reusable mugs for "have here" customers (looks like you choose your own mugs too), biocups made from plants not oil for takeaway coffee, and even the takeaway cup holders were made of milk cartons! The coconut Latte I had was very nice. Will definitely be back! ”

“ This is a lovely coffee shop with chill vibes, relaxed environment and warm and hospitable staff. The coffee and toasties were delicious and it is easy to stay here for a long period of time. However the limited parking and seating that this cafe offers that turn me off a bit and more indoor seating could enhance the experience. ”
